‘La Comisión de Retribuciones y Nombramientos del Consejo de Telefónica, a propuesta del Presidente del Grupo, ha aprobado proponer a Joaquín Agut Bonfills como Presidente Ejecutivo (C.E.O.) de Endemol, y como consecuencia de ello y a fin de suplir la vacante producida en Terra, proponer a Joaquín Faura Batlle como Presidente de Terra.’

Zo kondigt Telefónica de benoeming vanuit Spanje aan van een Spaanse algemeen directeur voor Endemol Entertainment Holding NV aan. Daarmee is voor het eerst sinds de overname door Telefónica de operationele leiding van Endemol in Spaanse handen gekomen. Endemol valt voortaan na de reorganisatie onder de afdeling ‘Filiales’ (filialen). Bij de verklaring is geen reden gegeven voor de benoeming en vervanging van Aat Schouwenaar.

Trouwens opvallend dat Telefónica nog redelijk positief is bij de beursrapportage over het negen maandsresultaat januari-september 2003 (weliswaar een daling van EBITDA winst, maar wel enige omzetstijging):

Endemol The cumulative revenues of the Endemol Group amounted to 616.4 million euros at the end of September, which was 7.2% more than in the same period of 2002. This positive progress in revenues was the result of the recovery of some of the Group’s traditional markets, in particular, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, France and Gestmusic Endemol in Spain. In addition, Endemol continued to pursue its policy of revenue diversification by fully exploiting the scope of the multiplatform concept (merchandising, telephone calls, text messaging, content marketing through the Internet, etc…), as a result of which nonproduction activity revenues currently account for 10% of the total. The Endemol Group’s cumulative EBITDA stood at 105.2 million euros at the end of the third quarter of 2003, in line with that achieved in the same period of the previous year (107.4 million euros). This meant that the EBITDA margin fell by 1.6 percentage points year on year to 17.1%.
